Forty Under 40: Allison Katz-Mayfield

When the International Olympic Committee overhauled its hospitality framework last year, ultimately granting Endeavor’s On Location the first exclusive rights to manage hospitality for the Games in 2024, 2026 and 2028, it undid a fragmented system that had been in place for decades. One of those most responsible for helping to shepherd Olympic and Paralympic hospitality into the future is LA28’s Allison Katz-Mayfield, who spent close to two years re-imagining what that system could look like while deftly maneuvering complex relationships with the IOC, Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026.

“We did a lot of work to make sure everybody felt like they had an equal voice in the process, which they did, and equal say in who progressed to the next round,” said Katz-Mayfield. “It probably moved slightly slower than we would have liked, but we ultimately ended up in a really good place and it allowed for everyone to be brought along through the process and feel ownership.”

Finding innovative solutions has been Katz-Mayfield’s forte for some time. Before joining LA28 in 2019, she spent five years in the NFL’s club business development office, where she focused on finding new ways to provide teams with impactful analysis and reporting. In that role, she built a data warehouse for NFL team ticketing data and helped create and lead a new team dedicated to Super Bowl team business operations.

Now, Katz-Mayfield is rethinking LA28’s approach to ticketing. The organizing committee is aiming to secure a ticketing partner by next year, putting it ahead of the typical timeline. “I meet people that remember the 1984 Games so viscerally,” she said, “and ensuring the local community here gets to have that similar experience is something that really excites me.” — Chris Smith
