Splitgate Pro Series signs Amazon Prime Gaming as presenting partner

By Trent Murray

Splitgate developer 1047 Games has secured a deal with Amazon’s Twitch rewards brand Prime Gaming to be the presenting partner for the Splitgate Pro Series. Logitech Esports Services will run the tournament series, which will have $500,000 in prizes.

Prime Gaming will be integrated across multiple aspects of the competition broadcast along with providing monthly in-game item rewards to viewers.

Splitgate is a first-person shooter that launched last year on Valve’s gaming platform, Steam. The game distinguished itself in the crowded shooter market by incorporating a portal system that permits players to teleport throughout the map at will. It’s a smaller game, averaging just 1,500 concurrent players last month (though it launched to much fanfare), according to Steam, but 1047 Studios raised $100 million last year to continue growing the title and develop its esports scene. The company also recently announced six high-level esports organizations will enter the Pro Series as partnered teams: T1, Luminosity, Spacestation Gaming, eUnited, XSET, and Moist Esports — the team owned by popular Twitch streamer Charles “MoistCr1tiKal” White Jr.
