Jimmy Kimmel plays up inaugural L.A. bowl game

College football bowl matchups were announced this weekend, with ABC's Jimmy Kimmel sarcastically noting Oregon State and Utah State are headed to the "biggest bowl of all, the first ever Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented By Stifel." Kimmel: “I don't know if any of you have ever had a bowl game named after you but it's exciting. ... I want to make it the best bowl game ever and one thing we don't have is a mascot." The schools "have mascots, but the bowl itself doesn't, and we need that to get the crowd fired up, so I reached out to an expert named Dave Raymond." Kimmel: "He’s ‘The Mascot Whisperer’ and he created some of the most popular mascots in sports. He founded the Mascot Hall of Fame, and so who better to help me craft a special mascot for my special game" (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 12/6).
