County opt-in key to A's ballpark project

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors today will consider its "potential role" in the A’s proposed $12B ballpark and mixed-use development project, a "key factor in advancing the plan." The city of Oakland has "asked Alameda County to opt into a tax district to help fund infrastructure costs." City officials "deemed county participation critical to funding the project." The board's agenda "calls for 'discussion and possible action' on a non-binding resolution declaring the county’s intent to join an infrastructure financing district." The wording "does not ensure a vote" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 10/26).
