Warriors broadcasters Bob Fitzgerald and Kelenna Azubuike "still aren't traveling with the Warriors when they play games on the road," according to Steve Berman of THE ATHLETIC. Warriors radio voices Tim Roye and Jim Barnett have been traveling with the team this season, but Roye said that during the last road trip, he "decided to stay home due to the surging Omicron variant and how difficult it would've been for him if he caught the virus and had to return home." Roye was not sure if the Warriors' NBC Sports Bay Area TV crew "would travel this season." An NBC Sports source said that "while no one is traveling at the moment due to health and safety concerns, the network anticipates that their broadcasters will travel at some point this season." It is "understandable" at this stage of the pandemic for broadcasters to take any and all precautions, but it was "a little strange that NBC Sports Bay Area didn't send Fitzgerald and Azubuike on the road at the beginning of the season when things seemed to be a little calmer on the COVID-19 front." But maybe if Omicron peaks and levels off, Fitzgerald and Azubuike "will resume traveling for the first time since early 2020" (, 1/25).
