Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN's online pharmacy promising "affordable prices" on prescription medications is "up and running." The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company "cuts out middlemen and negotiates directly with drug manufacturers and pharmacies for rebates and discounts on behalf of employers, health insurers and government health programs." The company offers the "lowest direct-to-consumer prices on more than 100 medications," including those "commonly prescribed for high cholesterol and blood pressure." Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs first launched under a different name in '18 as a "generic drug startup" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/20).

COURT REPORT: Apollo Global Management co-Founder LEON BLACK has accused his former top lieutenant JOSH HARRIS of "exploiting a scandal involving the late JEFFREY EPSTEIN to launch an 'attempted ... coup and smear campaign' in an effort to succeed Black as chief executive of Apollo Global Management." The claims, which a spokesperson for Harris described as “unhinged," were "detailed in a motion filed in New York state court on Tuesday." The filing is part of Black’s attempt to "obtain telephone records of his former mistress GUZEL GANIEVA," who has "filed a civil lawsuit accusing the billionaire of sexually abusing her during their relationship and then damaging her reputation by publicly accusing her of extortion" (FINANCIAL TIMES, 1/20).

CATCHING UP: White Sox C YASMANI GRANDAL has "invested in the future" of the catcher position in his role as an ambassador and investor with the equipment company Force3 Pro Gear. Grandal last week was "among those representing Force3 at the American Baseball Coaches Association convention at McCormick Place." Former White Sox and Braves C TYLER FLOWERS "recruited Grandal." Flowers, who also invested in the company, noted the Force3 catcher’s mask’s "patented spring technology that is designed to absorb the impact of the baseball." Flowers said that he was the "first major-league catcher to wear the gear" in '16. Grandal started wearing it during the '17 season (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/19).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Astros P JUSTIN VERLANDER and his wife, model KATE UPTON, are asking $11.75M for their "traditional-style estate" in the Benedict Canyon neighborhood of L.A. That is more than double the $5.25M they paid for it in '16. The 5,521-square-foot L-shaped house contains four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. A swimming pool sits at the top of the property, and "down below, there’s a tennis court." PETE SAMPRAS previously owned the home until selling it in '04 (L.A. TIMES, 1/19).

NAMES: The House of Representatives yesterday "voted unanimously to present" Hockey HOFer WILLIE O'REE with the Congressional Gold Medal. The Senate "passed the Willie O’Ree Congressional Gold Medal Act last summer," and the House yesterday "followed by approving the measure 426-0." It now goes to PRESIDENT BIDEN for his "expected signature." This will be the 12th time the Congressional Gold Medal "has been presented to an athlete or group of athletes" (BOSTON GLOBE, 1/20)....A woman who fell to her death at Petco Park while holding her toddler son last September "died by suicide," and authorities "ruled her 2-year-old son's death a homicide." The fall happened on Sept. 25 prior to Braves-Padres (, 1/19).
