Executive Transactions

The Trail Blazers announced several promotions, including: Senior VP/Corporate Communications ASHLEY CLINKSCALE to Exec VP/Chief Communications and Impact Officer; Senior VP/Commercial Partnerships ANDREA BAILEY to Exec VP and CRO; VP/Brand Strategy RYAN FLAHERTY to Senior VP/Brand Marketing; Head Athletic Trainer GEOFF CLARK to Dir of Player Health and Performance; and Assistant Athletic Trainer JESSICA COHEN to Head Athletic Trainer. The club also transitioned REBECCA FELCH to Chief of Staff and named DR. CHANTELLE GREEN Dir of Mind Health & Wellness and SHERI SAM as Scouting Manager (Trail Blazers).

DC Comics Senior VP and GM DANIEL CHERRY III "has stepped down," according to sources. Reasons for the "abrupt exit, which was characterized as a 'quitting,' are unclear." Cherry was in the position for "less than two years, having come aboard in September 2020." Cherry, an SBJ Forty Under 40 honoree in '17, came to DC after being CMO at Activision Blizzard Esports. Prior to that, he was Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer for the Devils (, 1/19). 

Athletics Canada CEO DAVE BEDFORD "is out" of his role after "complaints about his sexually graphic Twitter exchanges." Bedford is "retiring immediately, by mutual agreement." This comes after an "emergency meeting" on Monday by Athletics Canada's BOD after "complaints about Bedford’s social media activity." Athletics Canada COO MAT GENTES has been named interim CEO (CP, 1/19).

For Soccer Ventures (FSV) named former USMNT player HEATH PEARCE President. Pearce will oversee all aspects of the organization including strategic direction, content, marketing, experiences, business and revenue development. Pearce has served as FSV’s Chief Creative Officer since the company’s founding in '19 (FSV).

UCF named Stanislaus State AD TERRY DONOVAN Senior Exec Associate AD/CFO, returning him back to the D-I level where he spent his previous 18 years in athletics administration before coming to Stan State (UCF).
