Angels TV play-by-play broadcaster Rich Waltz said that he will "not be a part of the crew" Bally Sports West in 2022. In L.A., Jeff Fletcher notes there is "no word on who will replace Waltz." But there are "likely to be fewer opportunities in that position this season because Matt Vasgersian is expected to do more games" since he will no longer work for ESPN. At the start of the '21 season, Vasgersian and Daron Sutton "split the play-by-play duties." The Angels and Bally Sports West "let Sutton go at the All-Star Break," and Waltz "worked most of the second half" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 1/6).
SEEING DOUBLE: In Baltimore, Nathan Ruiz notes the Orioles partnered with Hearst-owned WIYY-FM and WBAL-AM as the team's "new flagship radio stations." The six-year agreement "will feature Orioles content" on WBAL-NBC as well, but the team-owned MASN "will remain the exclusive host of Baltimore's television broadcast games." CBS Radio's WJZ-FM "previously served as the flagship station of the Orioles Radio Network, which features seven states and 40 stations" (BALTIMORE SUN, 1/6).
