U.S. fencer ALEN HADZIC, who competed at the Tokyo Games despite being under investigation for sexual misconduct, is "being blocked from entering events by USA Fencing." The organization has "denied Hadzic's request to enter him in an upcoming competition and will continue to do so 'for the foreseeable future.'" Hadzic's attorney, MICHAEL PALMA, said that he "will fight to protect the fencer's right to participate." Last month, with fallout lingering over Hadzic’s participation in the Olympics, USA Fencing Exec Dir KRIS EKEREN, Communications Dir NICOLE JOMANTAS and General Counsel JIM NEALE resigned (USA TODAY, 10/21).

MADE FOR THE MOVIES: The Disney+ movie about Bucks F GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO, his family and their story will be titled "RISE." The film will "premiere on the streaming service sometime" in '22. It tells "the story of the Antetokounmpo family emigrating from Nigeria to Greece, struggling to survive and battling to get Greek citizenship." Real-life brothers UCHE and RAL AGADA will "play young Giannis and THANASIS, with JADEN OSIMUWA and ELIJAH SHOMANKE as their other brothers, KOSTAS and ALEX, respectively" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/21).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Bulls F DEMAR DEROZAN has been revealed as the $4.5M buyer of a River North mansion "sold earlier this month by the ex-wife" of MICHAEL JORDAN. The "six-bedroom, 10,179-square-foot Georgian-style mansion" was purchased by JUANITA VANOY JORDAN in '07. The mansion has "six full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, four fireplaces, a five-stop elevator, a recreation and billiard room, a theater room, a wine cellar, a library, a three-car heated garage and a roof deck" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/21)....76ers G BEN SIMMONS is selling his N.J. mansion and has an asking price of $5M. NAMES: Gonzaga men's basketball coach MARK FEW "has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in Idaho following his arrest in September." Few will "pay a $1,000 fine in lieu of spending four days in jail." He was "facing a maximum penalty of six months in jail" ( 10/20)....Jaguars DE DAWUANE SMOOT "unexpectedly delivered his newborn daughter, AHLANI MOON SMOOT, in the living room of their home in Jacksonville at 4 a.m. Tuesday." Smoot and his wife, AUMARI, "did not have enough time to make it to the hospital."
