Canada Basketball President & CEO GLEN GRUNWALD is "stepping down" from his role and "will move into a consultant’s role." Grunwald helped put the organization on "solid financial footing." Canada Basketball COO MICHAEL BARTLETT, who left Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to join the organization earlier this year, "will assume the CEO’s role from Grunwald" (TORONTO STAR, 9/9).

LEWAND BACK IN FOOTBALL: Former Lions President TOM LEWAND is "joining the new spring football league, Major League Football, as a special executive consultant." He will help MLF President & CEO FRANK MURTHA "navigate the start-up of a league scheduled to launch in spring 2022." Lewand was Lions President from '08-15 and "has been largely out of football" since he and GM MARTIN MAYHEW were let go midway through the '15 season (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 9/9).

EXECS: GF Sports & Entertainment named Spectra Venue Management Dir of Finance AMANDA CAREYVA VP/Finance. Careyva will oversee all accounting functions across GF Sports & Entertainment’s portfolio of properties, as well as lead financial evaluation for new business opportunities (GF Sports & Entertainment)....ESPN N.Y. Radio GM TIM MCCARTHY "will be out at the end of the month." McCarthy has been with Disney for "more than three decades, and has spent nearly a quarter-century as the New York radio GM, between WABC and ESPN New York" (N.Y. POST, 9/9)....Sneaker retailer The Athlete’s Foot named Payless ShoeSource COO MATT LAFONE U.S. President & GM of Americas, effective immediately. LaFone "will manage operations in North, South and Central America and will report to" Owner & Exec Chair PARAM SINGH (FOOTWEARNEWS.com, 9/8).
