23XI Racing removes President Steve Lauletta's interim tag

23XI Racing today will announce that interim team President STEVE LAULETTA has taken over the position on a full-time basis. Lauletta, the former longtime president of Chip Ganassi Racing, has been assisting 23XI co-Owner DENNY HAMLIN in setting up the NASCAR Cup Series team since before its founding was announced last year. Hamlin in a statement called Lauletta “invaluable” and said he has been the perfect fit. Lauletta, a graduate of Notre Dame, has prior stops at Miller Brewing Co. and has continued to run his own consulting agency, Pigeon Sports Marketing, working with clients such as Epic Games. Lauletta in a statement said that taking the job full time had turned into a position too good to pass up given the work 23XI is trying to do on-track, as well as off-track with DEI initiatives. The Toyota- and Joe Gibbs Racing-aligned team is in the midst of its first season as a one-car outfit, and driver BUBBA WALLACE has finished as high as second in a race. It will expand to two cars next year when KURT BUSCH and sponsor Monster Energy come aboard with roughly $10M in backing annually. The team is co-owned by MICHAEL JORDAN and his longtime financial advisor CURTIS POLK. Major sponsors include DoorDash and McDonald’s.
