Truth bomb: Paul Pierce says working at ESPN not a "great fit" for him

Paul Pierce was let go by ESPN this spring after a risqué video of him made the social media rounds, but Pierce recently said he “was done with them, anyway,” according to Chris Mannix of The former NBAer, who will be inducted into the Basketball HOF this weekend, appeared as an analyst for the net for several years after retiring, but the “relationship between Pierce and the network had become strained over the past two years.” Pierce “hated the travel,” while network officials “didn’t think he was working hard enough.” Sources said that the video, which included Pierce partying with strippers and marijuana, “was the last straw.” Pierce said, “It wasn’t a great fit. There’s a lot of stuff over there that you can’t say. And you have to talk about LeBron all the time.” Mannix noted Pierce “isn’t ruling out a return to TV.” However, he said it “would have to be something different.” Meanwhile, Pierce and Kevin Garnett are “planning on launching a podcast,” while Pierce “wants to do a show that follows the two of them traveling the world” (, 9/7).
