WNBA Dream hire AMB's Morgan Shaw Parker as President & COO

By John Lombardo

The WNBA Atlanta Dream have hired industry veteran Morgan Shaw Parker as President & COO. Shaw Parker comes to the Dream after working at AMB Sports & Entertainment for nearly six years while leading marketing efforts for the Falcons and Mercedes Benz Stadium as VP & CMO. Prior to her job at AMB Sports, she worked for Nike and for the Chiefs. Shaw Parker, an '18 SBJ Game Changer, will oversee day-to-day business operations for the Dream, who currently have a 7-20 record in the '21 season. The Dream in Feb. were sold to Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and former player Renee Montgomery. Shaw Parker will begin her job in mid-October and report to Abair, who had held the role of President and now will be CEO. TurnkeyZRG handled the search. Shaw Parker said she was drawn to the Dream’s ownership group and the prospect to grow the team’s presence in the market. “They are in it for the long run,” she said of the Dream’s ownership. "The market is right. There is no women’s team in Atlanta except for the Dream. There is a lot of room to grow and the opportunity is huge. There is only upside.”
