WME Sports adds to baseball division by adding Murray, Stival

By Liz Mullen

MLB player agents Jim Murray and Michael Stival have both left Excel Sports Management and joined WME Sports, according to sources. A WME Sports spokesperson declined to comment; Excel Sports Management officials did not immediately return requests for comment on Thursday. It is not clear what MLB player clients, if any, will follow Murray and Stival to WME Sports. As previously reported by SBJ, WME Sports has been quietly building an MLB player representation division since hiring MLB agent Kent Matthes away from CAA Sports last December. Clients of WME Baseball include Astros SS Carlos Correa, Red Sox P Garrett Whitlock, Tigers P Spencer Turnbull and Pirates P Chasen Shreve, as well as several players taken in the '21 MLB Draft.
