Nickelodeon producing "NFL Slimetime" show

Nickelodeon will produce a weekly NFL show in primetime that will be hosted by CBS’ Nate Burleson and Nick’s Young Dylan. The show, “NFL Slimetime,” premieres next Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 7:00pm ET/PT. All episodes will stream on Paramount+ the day after airing on Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon President & CEO Brian Robbins and NFL Media Exec VP & COO Hans Schroeder negotiated the deal, which also will include a Nickelodeon-produced NFL Wild Card on Jan. 16 at 4:30pm ET that will run alongside CBS Sports’ coverage. CBS Sports’ Shawn Robbins will be exec producer and showrunner of “NFL Slimetime.”

Nickelodeon plans to produce 23 episodes of show, which will run through Super Bowl week. It will feature “Nick-ified” highlights and game footage, while including player interviews and appearances by Nickelodeon stars. It will feature “teen sports correspondent” Dyan Schefter, daughter of ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and Lincoln Loud, of “The Loud House.” Ashley KaplanLuke WahlPaul Medford and Jana Blumenthal are listed as exec producers on the series. Senior VP/Digital Studios Ashley Kaplan oversees production for Nickelodeon.

Last week, CBS Sports Chair Sean McManus said that Nickelodeon has “a demographic and an audience that the NFL wants to reach.” With Nickelodeon’s coverage of a Wild Card playoff game earlier this year, the NFL “saw how incredibly effective Nickelodeon can be with reaching that audience.”
